Wairakei International Golf Course
This acclaimed 18-hole course is Par 72 and 6429 metres. Set in 450 acres of beautiful rolling countryside, Wairakei International has three water hazards and 108 bunkers. The course was designed to be New Zealand’s first international-standard course and one round will prove that this aim has certainly been achieved. Wairakei is a ‘must-experience’ for all casual and serious golfers. Wairakei International has a great new driving range and a golf professional is available for lessons year round.
After your final putt, stroll back to the 19th Hole Bar at Wairakei Resort Taupo for a well-earned drink. You can also warm up for your big game with a round on our resort’s own 9-hole course or get in some putting practice on our dedicated practice green.
Taupo Centennial Golf Course and Tauhara Golf Course
Both Taupo golf courses are 18-holes, set in lovely park-like surrounds, offering year-round playing. The Centennial Course is Taupo Golf Club's inland Links course – a challenging course that offers a real test of your golfing ability. The easy-walking Tauhara Course has mostly-elevated greens with beautiful Mt Tauhara as your scenic backdrop.
Hole in One Challenge
In Taupo town, along the lake front, you can try your luck at driving a golf ball across the lake to a pontoon – if you get a hole-in-one, or land the ball in one of the marked areas, you’ll walk away with some excellent prizes.
